SAM/WAR or SAM/THF for lowbie XP (30s)? SAM/NIN only if healing is light I'd imagine. What is best, based on others' past experience?
Thanks again Sparkle & Fade. That means in the past week, both my NIN & BLM have gotten a bit of love. Hopefully more coming soon!
I never imagined I'd be wearing a NQ weskit again, but I now have an INT+4 augmented weksit, so I'm very happy :D
INT+4 MAB+6 ELE+5
INT+5 MAB+4 MACC+4
It's gotta be a small difference, but I'm happy to be back in a BLM-specific armor. Time to make the XP push on SAM though. Nothing quite beats getting through Valkurm than a PT with 3 PLs.

{Yes, please}. Finally grabbed one tonight, so I can ditch this Philomath Stole. Stupid name, no?

I need to get some better gear :(
Only 100 more levels to go! (assuming that 99-100 is as bad as 1-99)
Not really much else to say that the title did not, but I got my gloves yesterday, and I'm finally done collecting it. Thanks again to everyone there.
Most impressive to me was the complete lack of death before the sac pull for the first NM. Usually (read: probably me among them) dies at least once before that point.

17 of us, and I got the only AF2, my first Xarc AF2 too. Go me!
Thanks again for the loot to those who were there :D
Finished DNC, taking it from 32 > 37. I don't think I've gotten 5 levels in a day on any job above 20.
75 RDM, 97 weaving. Not a bad day, eh?
Had to log, dropped while I was gone. At least it's another person who won't have to lot against me next time. And at least the shell has had 1 (BLM AF) drop in Xarc in 2 of the past 3 Xarc runs.
Was fun going in with 17, and taking down that pesky DRG mob at the end with sleep/nuke.

I didn't want to be gimp and not level into a joytoy, so I got one thanks to the help of Gades, Priph, and Lacey, with assistance offered by Tharon (may have been there at the end - unsure, as I died), Cads, and Klisk, who didn't make it in time to join. It was surprisingly easy to tank (with haste & march & elegy), though I did die from an untimely 1k cross attack during a recast of utsusemi. Would have lived if I spelled BQR right for my macro. Hardest mob I tanked by far, and not bad.
It was interesting idling there all week for the ToD, as I made a nice acquaintance down there with a player Sanagi, who it looks like got his Joyeuse too, who felt bad for my hours of killing PHs the initial day to not get the mob (was looking for ToD, no way I'd drag people out for it without a ToD). In the end, no one else was there when I got the kill, which was the first time I can recall seeing that.

Loving this foulard synth. I now have 29 of them. I should list them, but I don't like that they keep going down.

Dong! (95 {Clothcraft})
And now that includes me. Took 26 synths + 2 breaks to get 99-100. Luckily for me, I had just enough mats for that last synth. Should it have taken 1 more try, I would have had to buy another 11k worth of mats to make it.
Got Chefdrizz to 95.8 cooking. 16 stacks of Rolanberries yielded 16 Rolanberry 664s, which yielded 14 Awd Goggie pops (and more importantly 14 Royal Jellies). Went back with 24 stacks of rolanberries. For the 1500 gil I get back, all it really costs is time, it's a minor loss of gil. However, my dual-boxing is not going so well; I've been having framerate issues while dual-boxing since I reinstalled windows. I need to play around with video card drivers more, I suppose.
And 2 numbers

I remember the epic fight the first time I took him down, as a low-50s Black Mage. The climb to the top of the tower, worrying about aggro, and I a few near-deaths along the way. Not all of us survived the entire fight, but we came out victorious. This time was different though.
Going as a 75 Black Mage, solo, against Shadow Lord would be a bit tougher. His first form has ~10k HP, and that is about 5 AM2 spells. That requires full MP. Factor in intermittent magic immunity, crap for defense, and my lack of desire to use any meds. This was a truly epic fight.
I started off 2 with 2 AM2s. After that, he went to magic immunity, and I had to hold off for a bit. He eventually went back to physical immunity, so I nuked once more, then fired off manafont. After that, he switched right back to magic immunity. It was at this point when I was out of MP, and had him at 40% HP, and figured I was going to die. However, I started to melee him, and used spirit-taker to recover some MP. Right around that time, I remembered that I should have been using Aspir the entire time. It was a struggle, with no attack gear, but I got him down until he shed his immunity 3-4 mins later, and I nuked him for the last spell.
Round 2 was cake, just 4k HP, and I was draining for ~11% HP. After 2 drains & aspirs, using Bind to buy some time to rest, I finished him off easily. I wanted to solo him as BLM for years, and I finally did so yesterday.

I'm enjoying the job, though I'm failing to refresh promptly on occasion. Now that I know the duration, I can hopefully do better.
P.S. Level Synch is fun, provided my RDM doesn't drop below 41.
